This article explains how to troubleshoot issues when logging in to Schoolyear via Single Sign-On (SSO). Select the error message you see below to view the steps.
"We couldn't find an account with this email address. Try again."
This error message means that Schoolyear does not recognise the email domain used to log in. Follow these steps to resolve the issue:
- Go to the Admin Console.
- Open Login settings.
- Check whether the correct email domains have been added under Email domains.
"Your account does not contain all the information required to log in. Contact your IT admin."
If you see this error message, some information is missing from the data that the Identity Provider sends to Schoolyear. This could be a missing first or last name, or a missing or incorrectly configured role. Follow these steps to resolve the issue:
- Go to the Admin Console.
- Open Login settings in the menu on the left and go to the SSO error logs tab.
- Turn on the switch next to Enable Single Sign-On Error Logging. From that moment onwards, all error messages that occur when logging in via SSO will be recorded on this page.
- Try logging in again with the account where the issue occurred.
- Return to the SSO error logs tab and click the error message to see exactly what is going wrong.
- Adjust the configuration in your Identity Provider based on the error message. For example, add the missing first or last name, or check whether the role is configured correctly. Then try logging in again.
- Once the issue has been resolved, turn logging off again using the same switch.
