After installing Schoolyear and launching it using the large blue “Continue” button, Schoolyear will start in full-screen mode. On a Windows computer, you will first be logged out. When you log back in with your own account, Schoolyear will launch in full-screen mode.
Schoolyear may occasionally fail to start or stop working during the exam, resulting in a mostly black screen accompanied by an error message pop-up. If this happens, Schoolyear has not started correctly and the screen will appear similar to the example below:
Follow the step by step guide below to resolve this issue
Step 1: Restart of Reset Schoolyear

Take a photo of the error message. If you can’t take a photo, write down the exact error message and error code.

Select the “Restart PC” button. The computer will now restart.

Do you return to your desktop? Then the issue is resolved — continue to step 5
- Do you see the same screen again? Select the “Reset Schoolyear Shell” button.

Follow the on-screen instructions and you should return to your desktop — the issue is then resolved.

Once the issue is resolved, send an email to support@schoolyear.com with the following information:

Your name + student number

Name of the exam

Time the issue occurred

Photo or exact error message and code
