Can I only use Schoolyear for specific courses?
You are able to roll out the Schoolyear settings to only specific courses in your Canvas instances. You can use sub-accounts for this and only apply the Schoolyear specific theme for specific sub-accounts only and adding the required courses to this sub-account. Courses that are not in this sub-account, won't be able to see the Schoolyear settings.
Common errors:
Error: "authentication cookie not found; please ensure third-party cookies are enabled for this site."
If you receive this error when trying to interact with the Schoolyear options (such as Settingswidget of Dashboard button) this is most likely due to your browser blocking the Schoolyear cookies that are required.
There could be many thing that could cause this error but we have listed some likely causes below:

Stop using an Incognito (private) Window
- Incognito (or private) windows block the interactions with Schoolyear and is therefore not supported.

Delete the cookies for Schoolyear.
- In most browser, you can go to the settings cookies and site settings and clear the Schoolyear cookies.
- Once you have done this, hard-refresh the page and the issue should be resolved. You can hard refresh by clicking shift + control / CMD + R.

Disable Enhanced Tracking Protection (common in Firefox)
- You can resolve this by clicking the shield icon in the URL-bar and disable this function.
- Once you have done this, hard-refresh the page and the issue should be resolved. You can hard refresh by clicking shift + control / CMD + R.
- You could re-enable the Enhanced Tracking Protection after doing this, but the issue might resurface once the cookies expire.
Error: "message: lti installation not recognized\nbad request."
This most likely caused by a wrongly-configured issuer in the Canvas Add-on in the Schoolyear Admin console. Review step 3 of the add-on configuration. If you use a non-production version of Canvas, you highly likely have to adjust these settings. Convey with your Canvas support representative in case you don't know which one to add here.
Student error: Cannot enter quiz because your Canvas account has no student ID configured. Contact your Canvas administrator.
the length must be between 3 and 15
This error is displayed if there is no SIS ID set in the user profile of the student or if the SIS ID is not between 3 or 15 characters. You can resolve this by adjusting the SIS ID in the student profile.
- Note: if you use "student-view" from a teacher role, there is no SIS ID set and you will get this error. You will have to use a real demo account.
- Note: You cannot map this field to something other then the SIS ID.
Error: Exams from a different course show up in the Schoolyear list overview
This most likely caused by a stored cookie in your browser. In order to resolve this issue, please delete the Schoolyear cookie and refresh the page:
