This article describes how you as a student can start a exam with Schoolyear from Möbius.
Make sure before you start:
- that you have performed a device check to identify possible errors.
- that all documents are saved. When starting the exam, all open programs will be automatically closed.
- that you have the rights to download applications on your computer.
- that you have your login details ready.
Step-by-step plan
- Open a browser supported by Schoolyear (see minimum computer requirements) and log in to Möbius. How you log in depends on how your institution has set this up.

Choose your exam and click on 'Start'. You will now arrive at the Schoolyear onboarding page.
- Click on the "Launch Schoolyear" button. It may be that this is already done automatically for you.
Have you not installed Schoolyear yet? Then click on "Download now".
Read more about how to install Schoolyear using the following instructions: - Now click on "Open" to open the Schoolyear application. It may take a few seconds before the Schoolyear application opens.

- The Schoolyear application will now open. Click on "Launch your Workspace".
Do you have an older version of Schoolyear? Then it will update now. Read here more about how updating works: - After clicking on Launch your Workspace" you will be logged out of Windows. Log in again with your own details. Once you log in, the secured Schoolyear environment will start immediately. MacOS users will skip this step.
- When opening the secured Schoolyear environment, you will arrive at the check page. The checks will be automatically performed per component.

Once all checks have been successfully completed, you can start your exam.
- Finished with your exam? First check if you have submitted the questions in the test application. Then you can close the secured environment via the 'Close' button at the bottom right.
- You will now be logged out of Schoolyear. When you log in again to Windows, you will return to your desktop. On macOS you will go directly to your desktop. You can continue your work.
