This article describes how to start an exam with Schoolyear from Woots.
Make sure before you start:
- that you have performed a device check to identify possible errors.
- that all documents are saved. When starting the exam, all open programs will be automatically closed.
- that you have the rights to download and install applications on your computer.
- that you have your login details ready.
Step-by-step
- Open a browser which is supported by Schoolyear (see minimal computer requirements) and log in at Woots. How you log in depends on how your institution has arranged this.
- Choose your exam and click 'Start'. You will be redirected to the Schoolyear onboarding page.
- Click on the "Launch Schoolyear" button. It may be that this is already done automatically for you.
Have you not installed Schoolyear yet? Then click on "Download now".
Read more about how to install Schoolyear using the following instructions: - Now click on "Open" to open the Schoolyear application. It may take a few seconds before the Schoolyear application opens.

- The Schoolyear application will now open. Click on "Launch your Workspace".
Do you have an older version of Schoolyear? Then it will update now. Read here more about how updating works: - After clicking on Launch your Workspace" you will be logged out of Windows. Log in again with your own details. Once you log in, the secured Schoolyear environment will start immediately.

- When opening the secured Schoolyear environment, you will arrive at the check page. The checks will be automatically performed per component.

Consult this article to solve issues. - When all the boxes turn green you will automatically proceed to the exam. You can now start with the questions.
- Finished with your exam? Check whether you have submitted the questions. Then you can close the secure environment via the red 'Exit' button.
- You will now be logged out of Schoolyear again. When you log back in to Windows, you will return to your desktop. In macOS you will be taken directly to your desktop. You can resume your work.
