The Schoolyear application restricts access to unauthorized programs, documents, and websites during an exam. Upon launching, Schoolyear operates in fullscreen mode, automatically closing all currently running programs and documents. The only application visible on your screen will be the exam. Importantly, Schoolyear comes with its own built-in browser, ensuring that no one can access your personal browsing behavior, browser history, or documents.
Throughout the exam, Schoolyear continuously checks to ensure it's running in fullscreen and that no other webpages are being accessed. The software can detect suspicious activities, such as the use of shortcut keys (e.g., Ctrl+Alt+Del) or any attempts to exit the browser. Should any such behavior arise, the proctor will be promptly notified.
It's essential to understand that Schoolyear does not have the capability to control your laptop remotely, even during the exam. As a student, you maintain complete control over your device at all times. While you have the option to shut down Schoolyear whenever you choose, including during an exam, be aware that doing so could result in consequences.
