After installing and launching Schoolyear using the large blue “Continue” button, Schoolyear will start in full-screen mode. On a Windows computer, you will first be logged out. Once you log back in with your own user account, Schoolyear will open in full-screen mode.
It is possible that the startup is not successful, and the entire screen turns black. In this case, you will only see the mouse cursor on your screen. This indicates that Schoolyear did not start correctly.
To resolve this, follow one of the methods outlined below. Start by trying steps 1 and 2. If these steps do not resolve the issue, proceed with the technical recovery step, which will always fix the problem.
Step-by-step Guide:
Step 1: Log out
- Press Control + Alt + Delete.
- You will see the Windows menu. Select the option “Log out”
- You will now be logged out. Log back in with your account.
- Are you navigated to your desktop? You can then restart Schoolyear.
- Do you still encounter the black screen? Proceed to the next step.
Step 2: Restart your computer

Press Control + Alt + Delete.

You will see the Windows menu. Click the power button and select the option “Restart”

Your computer will restart. Log back in with your account.

Are you navigated to your desktop? You can then restart Schoolyear.

Do you still encounter the black screen? Proceed to the next step.
